Elizabeth has been playing piano since she was 5 years old.  She began to expand her music interests to guitar and recorder around age 8.  In 5th grade band she played clarinet.  In 6th grade she switched to French horn.  She also joined middle school jazz band and played keyboards.  She accompanied the middle school choir on several songs.  In high school she joined marching band.  She continued to play in the jazz band in high school as well, where she played upright bass.  She accompanied many many fellow students at solo and ensemble contests and continued to accompany the choir as well.

In college she continued to perform on the French horn in orchestra and quartet. After college Elizabeth worked in an office for a year and then decided to join her mother-in-law Ellie as a piano teacher!  Over the years of teaching she has developed her collaborative style to include student requested songs, many of which are in the pop music genre.  Some common requests are for Taylor Swift and Star Wars music.  As many more students and families began having access to iPads, she brought in Garage Band as a teaching and creative tool for the students.  They can re-create the background to a pop song and play the melody together with it!

About 10 years ago Elizabeth began going out to homes to teach the students.  Now she teaches exclusively in-home lessons.

Thank you for your interest in music lessons!
